The Quiet Power of the In-Between Space
by Tabby Biddle
There is a space in our lives that rarely gets honored.
It's the space between what has been and what is becoming. The space where an old identity no longer fits, but the new one hasn't fully revealed itself yet.
So many women I've been speaking with lately find themselves here. They feel uncertain. They feel disoriented. But they are not failing.
They are simply standing inside a mystery.
Our culture doesn't tend to value this in-between space. We're taught to move quickly, to decide, to fix, to clarify, to “figure it out.” To translate uncertainty into action as fast as possible.
But from a feminine perspective, the in-between is not a problem to solve. It's a threshold.
It's a space of gestation, where something real is forming beneath the surface. A space where listening matters more than certainty, and where presence matters more than productivity.
When we rush this moment, we often miss its intelligence. When we stay with it, something deeper can emerge.
This is why so many women experience this season of life as disorienting and tender. The familiar ways of leading, producing, or using their voice no longer feel true. And yet, the next expression hasn't fully taken shape.
I have been here many times in my life.
Being in this space doesn't mean you are off-track, that you've lost your mojo, or that you're falling behind.
It means you're being asked to lead differently.
You are being called into feminine leadership. This isn't the patriarchal model you've been taught.
A feminine approach to leadership doesn't override this in-between moment. It honors it and trusts that clarity will unfold through relationship, reflection, and time.
If you find yourself here, please know this: the in-between is not a sign that something is wrong. This moment is alive with information, wisdom, and possibility — often more expansive than where you've been before..
It's not asking to be rushed. It's asking to be met.
If you find yourself standing at this kind of threshold and want support as what’s next takes shape, I am currently offering a small number of private mentorship spaces. You’re welcome to explore whether that support feels right for you. Contact me here.
