Client Success Story: Rachel Keener

Meet a Powerful Feminine Leader

Rachel Keener, founder of the New Vision Project

Editor's Note: This week I am showcasing Rachel Keener who I worked with last spring via my Your Voice Now program. This will be the first in a series of Goddess Diaries where I will feature the success story of a client who has stepped out as the feminine leader she is meant to be.

Rachel Keener, the founder of the New Vision Project.

Tabby: Before we started working together, what were you struggling with?

Rachel: Before I started working with Tabby, the biggest thing I was struggling with was lack of clarity.  I felt my mission on this earth, and my vision for what is possible, was so grand that I wasn’t even sure where to begin.  Some days I would be filled with ideas and inspiration and others I’d feel the passion burning, but be blank on “how” to make it all come together.  These moments would lead to self-doubt.

More importantly, I knew that to be successful I could not approach this new work in the same manner as I had managed my corporate career.  Specifically, I could not try to manhandle and control the entire process, unless I wanted to royally screw things up.  Instead, I needed to let the “how” flow through, revealing itself in a similar manner as to how my calling had surfaced.  The challenge with this approach was I have had way more experience with controlling outcomes than I have had with getting comfortable with the unknown.

A few weeks before I connected with Tabby, I had received some guidance and the direction was, and still is, “Your action is simply to say ‘yes’ to that which feels right.”  So, I said ok.  One morning I wasn’t able to concentrate on my work and found myself reading one of Tabby’s articles, then reading about her services.  As I read what she was offering, everything in my being SHOUTED, “Yes! Yes! Yes!”  Without hesitation, I grabbed my cell, gave her a call and was signing the contract for our work to begin the next day.  From that moment forward, everything in my life has become more clear, more balanced and more fulfilled.

Tabby: How did our work together help you move forward?

Rachel: Working with Tabby was an amazing experience because she is a gifted guide.  She has this way of blending the intuitive with the very rational, logical and practical, and somehow helping you do the same alongside her.

Generally speaking, Tabby’s guidance was instrumental in helping me bring forward my truths.  From asking the right questions that led to clear answers, to suggesting new ways to approach my writing, to simply believing in the work I am pursuing and advocating for its creation, I felt like I had a real partner in the development process.

To give you an idea of what came out of my time with Tabby, I ended the program with clarity on my key messages, an outline for my book, specific ideas for the types of services I wanted to offer, a complete signature speech, a game plan for securing speaking engagements, an expanded social footprint, and an overall practical framework for moving forward.  Really, this is just scratching the surface because there was just so much more.

She truly helped me find my most authentic voice.

Tabby: What has happened since you worked with me?

Rachel: I am pleased to say I have officially stepped out on my own and am pursuing a soul-level purpose and dream!  At the beginning of September, I founded the New Vision Project, an organization dedicated to increasing the prominence of women leaders around the globe.  My website and blog are up and running, and my first guest blog post was featured on the homepage of ModernMom.com this week. I’ve also joined BlogHer, Project Eve and a few other relevant communities in an effort to connect with like-minded women.

Additionally, one of the things I worked on with Tabby was identifying people in my network, friends and colleagues, who would be aligned with helping to push this work forward.  As a result, I have found an ally in DC who is working on helping me get connected with a number of groups, I am making some headway in securing guest lecture opportunities at local universities, and I have even connected with two groups internationally who have expressed interest in potentially collaborating on a project.

Lastly, I just signed on with In Women We Trust as a speaker and I am waiting to hear if my speaking proposal was selected for SXSW Interactive 2013.

So, less than a month into my new work I have to say I am so excited.  I feel clear, focused and energized and my work with Tabby has everything to do with where I am at this time.
