A Kids Magazine for the Holidays

by Tabby Biddle

The Winter Issue is here! In the midst of all of the turmoil right now, I thought I’d bring you something light and playful.

Some of you might remember me sharing with you that back in March when school shut down (and moved into the virtual classroom), my son, like many kids around the country, had a lot of extra time on his hands.

He was going a little nuts, as were we, with all of this new open-ended time.

One day, my husband suggested to my son that he take some pictures of our cat, Max Frederick, print them out in black and white and make a coloring book.

But my son decided he wanted to do something bigger and better.

So, my husband taught my son how to use Pages on his iPad, and off he went. The next thing we knew, our 7 year-old son was on a journey of writing, photographing, painting, designing and publishing his own books!

But it didn’t stop there.

Next, my son decided he wanted to publish a magazine. He’s a huge fan of National Geographic Kids Magazine, and devours it every month it arrives. He’s also loves The Peanuts comics, the New Yorker comics (parent-approved ones), and cats (we have an adorable one).

Put all of this together, and voilá, you have a theme for a magazine.

Today … I’m proud to announce the Winter Issue of:

CATS JUMPING ON THE COUCH!

The magazine is great for kids ages 5-9, and features fun games, puzzles, original fiction and artwork.

It is with great Mama pride that I share the Winter Issue of my son’s magazine with you. It’s a great holiday gift!

Thank you for indulging me.

I’m wishing you safety and good health as we all navigate these difficult times.
