I’ve just come back from some refreshing time off traveling and vacationing with my family. These summer trips are so important to me because they allow me to slow down, rest, and log off.

I know it can sometimes be hard to do that, though. In a world that tells us we must constantly be getting more done in order to keep up, there is very little value placed on rest and play. Hustle is revered. And even when we’re risking burnout, we’re often given messaging to just push through and give a little more.

But what if we listened to our bodies instead?

If you find yourself struggling to switch into a mindset of slowing down this summer (or anytime you feel your body asking for a break), here are 3 affirmations to help you reframe.

3 Affirmations for Slowing Down When You Know You Need Rest:

1. I deserve rest.

2. My body loves it when I rest.

3. I am my best self when I rest.

Say these aloud or quietly to yourself. Either way works!

As feminine leaders, we must remember that our inner lives are valuable. As we continue our journey into greater leadership, it’s absolutely necessary for us to rest, contemplate, and nourish ourselves. This is essential to our feminine leadership.

While we used to think that we needed to emulate men to rise into leadership positions in order to make it in a “man’s world,” we now know that the path to power is changing.

Your leadership is about expanding into your feminine truth, and that all starts with you nourishing yourself from the inside out.

I’m here to remind you that your inner life and your rest are essential to your leadership.

Our intellect is one aspect of our power, but our true feminine intelligence is sourced in the body.

How are you tuning into and listening to your body lately? Perhaps you need the reminder to pause and check in with her.
