Last week, I had, what I described to my husband as "the best time of my life."

No, it's not what you think. It was the Rise of the Goddess event.

Why did I have such a good time? Because I got to speak very openly and authentically about the Divine Feminine and how she came into my life, how she turned on my awareness of the oppression of women worldwide and how she awakened my political voice.

While I write about this often, I don't often speak publicly about it with such freedom.

The Rise of the Goddess event was a night of freedom. Freedom for all of us to express ourselves with honesty, devotion and passion for a better world and deeper acknowledgement of the Feminine.

The women were curious and hungry for discussion on this topic. What does the Rise of the Goddess mean for them personally? For their larger work in the world? And for all of us as a shared humanity?

The discussion was rich and ever-so satisfying. The questions from the women in the audience were beautiful, many of them wanting to know how to integrate the Feminine more into their work as artists, as businesswomen, as start-up entrepreneurs, as activists and as spiritual teachers and leaders.

There were tears. There was laughter. There was devotion. It felt like a sacred political gathering. (Words, as I write them, that I don't think I've ever used together before.)

I had the extreme pleasure of partnering with Amanda Young, founder of Urban Goddess, and Suparna Bhasin, founder of She Creates Change, to co-create this transformational evening.

And it was also my first book signing! This was a ton of fun. I have imagined for so long that I would one day write a book, and now the moment has arrived. And here I was signing books for women who I am so dedicated to and excited to see blossom in the world. It was really a big moment for me.
