5 Affirmations to Use Before You Publish Your Writing

by Tabby Biddle

Even after many years of experience as a writer, blogger and journalist, I still feel vulnerable whenever a new piece of mine goes live.

Whether you are sharing a new essay on your blog, have a new op-ed coming out, or perhaps have a larger writing project (such as a book!) getting published, these affirmations are a great way to help you breathe through that initial wave of vulnerability.

Remember: feeling vulnerable isn’t a bad thing, and it certainly isn’t a reason to doubt your writing, your message, or your voice. We need what you have to share.

Here are 5 affirmations that I use both with myself and my clients that can help ground and center you before you publish. If you’re getting ready to publish, I encourage you to try them out. You can say them out loud or quietly to yourself. Either way works!

5 Affirmations to Use Before You Publish Your Writing

1. I am claiming my truth.

2. It is safe to share my ideas.

3. What I have to say is important.

4. My writing helps someone else feel less alone.

5. My writing is in service to something greater than me.

Save these for when you may need them, and thank you for using your voice and sharing your message with us!
